Today is the birthday of our Buddha
Not that Buddha, ours is much cuter!
Now fourteen and taller than Mom
And at least 13.5 years since he sucked his thumb!
Almost ready to face grade nine.
With a WORLD of experience he’ll do just fine.
His ability to amuse is quite scary,
With the charissma of Obama, and the faces of Jim Carey
With hundreds of funny stories, a bit of a clown
He ’s a sure remedy, when you’re feeling down.
Willing to try it, jump it, touch it or eat it
As a travelling companion, you just can’t beat it
With a love for God, and heart of gold,
His passion for others just never grows old.
We tried to count, but there are too many friends
All waiting to see him once the trip ends.
But today it is just us, and this good natured boy
Without any cake or any new toy.
What a great sport, our boy of fourteen
Spent a year with just his family and still pretty keen.
So it’s with hugs, kisses that we say
We wish you the happiest fourteenth Birthday !
